This is a funny video. All of us have given our wifes or girl friends a “practicle” gift at one time.
One time I gave my wife some kitchen appliances for her birthday. She sent me to the dog house.

Laservue TV

Posted in Things for the Man Cave on December 2, 2008 by mancaverblog

lasertv

Mitsubishi’s LaserVueTM Laser TV harnesses the power of the world’s purest light source (laser) to deliver two times the color of many of today’s HDTVs. Laser beams provide an extensive range of rich, complex colors, truly distinct clarity, and immersive depth of field. LaserVue sets the new standard for large screen television by delivering unimaginable color at approximately one third the operating power consumption of similarly-sized LCD TVs and one fourth of plasmas. The set is only 10 inches deep.

Reviews have been fantastic for the laser TV by Mitsubishu, but it comes at a hefty price of around $6999, which is comparable to LCDS or Plasmas this size.
The advantages to this technology:
Have brighter vivid colors (display twice the amount of color from HD lcds or plasmas)
Where lcds or plasmas the colors may fade with age, this one does not.
 Less power consumption
 High contrast

2themancave gives this TV 2 thumbs up, now I wish I had an extra $7000 to buy one.

Quantum of Solace (James Bond Movie)

My son (Nick), and I enjoyed the movie but really missed the “Bond Movie Elements”. It didn’t have the special gadgets, no pretty girls with names like “pussy willow”,no humor, the suave, flirtatious Bond was replaced by a normal guy.
Basically, As action movies go, it had lots of action. The opening sequence was pretty intense, but the film turned into a “Jason Bourne” type movie. The movie is worth seeing, but die hard Bond fans may be a little disappointed. 2thecave.com gives it 3 3/4 Clubs out of 5

Sexdrive -the movie

Posted in Mancave Movie Reviews, Movies on October 20, 2008 by mancaverblog

Starring:Josh Zuckerman, Amanda Crew, Clark Duke, James Marsden, Charlie McDermott

Directed by:Sean Anders

Produced by:Michael Nelson, Bob Levy (II), Leslie Morgenstein

Basic Story: Eighteen year old Ian (Donut employee) finally gets the opportunity to lose his virginity when a woman he meets on-line offers to have sex with him if he drives to Knoxville to meet her. Accompanied by friends Lance and Felicia, whom Ian has a thing for, but she in turn has a thing for Lance, take off on a road trip in Ian’s brother, Rex’s beloved 1969 GTO — without permission of course. The movie is about the roadtrip.

My son (Nick), Daughter (Haley )and I enjoyed the movie and hept us laughing till the end.

Now a days we all need a good laugh. 2thecave.com gives it 4 1/2 Clubs

Basically, It was a funny, raunchy, coming of age movie. Yes, it seems like it been done before, but who really cares. (They are coming out with Saw 5 and that one should have stopped at Saw 2.)You remember when you were trying to score for the first time and how your older brother always used to harrass you: well, it was one of those kind of movies.   Seth Green was humorous as the sarcastic Amish guy.   Go and see it, you’ll have fun!

Andrew Lang’s Man Cave

Posted in Remodeling the Mancave on October 10, 2008 by mancaverblog

This mancave belongs to Andrew Lang in Washington DC.

It’s a very high class and a well designed man cave.

It has all the comforts of home like a hot tub, massage area,
cigar room, bar, home theater, wine cellar, & card-game area.
I especially liked the classic car seating, the texico gas
pump and snack area in the home theater.

Andrew says that his mancave won an award for best design.

Excellent job Andrew!

Reviews on Death Race

Posted in Mancave Movie Reviews, Movies on October 5, 2008 by mancaverblog

Stars: Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Ian McShane, Tyrese Gibson, Natalie Martinez.
Directed by:Paul W.S. Anderson

Produced by:Roger Corman, Dennis E. Jones, Don GrangerI

Basic Story: Overcrowding in the U.S. penal system has reached a breaking point. Coruption lead to a “race to the death” that is steamed to the internet.  Jason Statham’s character is framed and forced to race -mayhem ensues until the end of the movie.

My son (Nick) and I both liked it. Yes it was over the top and had a far fetched story.  I have liked all of Jason Stratham movies and maybe I’m a little biased with this one.

Basically the movie was bad ass, it kept your interest, had tons of violence, suped up cars with 30 cal. and missile launchers, gorgeous women and a few twists to keep you guessing.  Road Warrioreske.

The Man Book by Otto DeFay

Posted in Things for the Man Cave on September 23, 2008 by mancaverblog

“This book contains everything you need to know to be a man.Everything. It will prepare you for every situation you can imagine, from the office to the bedroom. It will improve your life no matter what you’re doing…whether you’re in a bar, in a fight, in a wedding, in an argument, at a game, at work, or in a stranger’s bed.”

This book contains material that all men should know. It covers humorously at times  names for man’s private part, breast sizes, differences between scotch, whiskey, bourbon, etc, the super bowl, field positions, sowerbowl MVPS, poker, the basics of wine, and etc.

Its an interesting and entertaining book to read and will improve your manliness.
Thumbs Up for the Man Cave!
